Medical Record Retrieval - Our Process

MRC’s record retrieval process provides complete transparency, control, and confidence that your legal project will be executed on-time and on-budget.
1

Define Success

Your dedicated Project Manager works with you to understand scope, timeline, and key deliverables. Your project dashboard is created so you can track progress, change directives, and control costs at the click of a button.
2

Review Plaintiff Authorizations

Authorization deficiency audits are completed, expiration dates are noted, and missing information is tracked down with Opposing Counsel to ensure timely and complete record collection.
3

Identify All Medical Record Providers

All records are thoroughly reviewed to identify additional medical providers, along with suggested record types. This is presented to your team for review and approval to move forward with collection.
4

Confirm and Request Records

MRC confirms key information for the medical providers and phone call requests are made. Key deadlines, special requirements, and costs are discussed in advance to ensure compliance with project expectations.
5

Follow-Up

Once requests for records are sent, MRC works diligently to follow-up on incomplete or missing records, or to obtain “No Record Statements.”
6

Verify Record Payments

MRC will pay the costs of custodian fees up-front if they adhere to state statue limits and/or your firm's agreed upon limits. These costs will then be passed through on your next invoice.
7

Access Your Records

Access your records and any other legal documents in our secure, online portal. Request copies, add new directives, and track project status from anywhere 24/7.
8

Certify Records

Records are received, verified for accuracy and admissibility, and Bates numbered to complete the order. MRC works to obtain a Certification of No Records or the Certification of Records accordingly.
9

Monitor and Measure Project Performance

All along the way, you have access to reports, dashboards, and notifications to monitor project status, control costs, and ensure there are no unhappy surprises during your legal project.
