Legal Services > Medical Literature Research

The original service offered at MRC, review and analysis of published clinical research findings has evolved and taken many forms, including:

  • Researching the medical “precedent”, i.e. standard of care, best medical practices, etc.
  • Researching the full extent of medical damages and the plausibility of causation.
  • Preparation of “learned medical treatises” on specific medical issues. Nurses will compile in a succinct format the results of intensive research specific to an individual case or litigation, citing published sources and references, which can then be used by the litigation team as a reliable source of facts.
  • Researching chemicals for exposure routes, causation to illnesses, symptomatology, etc.

Medical literature research and analysis is typically conducted by MRC nurses skilled in research techniques and familiar with scientific and medical terminology. MRC has access to articles and studies through multiple online subscriptions, reference materials and medical libraries.
