MRC’s Cost Sharing Model

MRC has the ability to provide record retrieval services in a cost-sharing model.  This method saves both time and money, resulting in significantly reduced average costs per claim.

The solution is as follows:  The lead counsel for each case/plaintiff directs the record retrieval through MRC.  We work with lead counsel and facilitate all record sharing communications with co-counsel.
MRC will handle the invoicing, collections, training, technical support (if needed) and distribution of the records/work product. The lead counsel will not have to bill the participants, collect from the other participants or distribute the records or work product – MRC will be responsible for coordinating these tasks with all participants.

Records, once retrieved, are available through a secure online database, and may be viewed and printed locally, eliminating offsite printing and shipping costs.  Records may also be delivered in hard copy or on CD.

Costs to be shared: The costs to research, order, purchase, track, receive, scan, upload, store, ship or dispose of the original record are divided equally among the participants. Each firm pays an administrative fee per record ordered (split fee charge) that covers costs of individual account management and invoicing.

Costs not shared: Costs for online access to records are billed separately to each lead firm. In addition, each firm may opt to order working copies of the record according to their individual preference: paper and/or CD. The charges are invoiced to that firm and allocated to the specific matter.
